Course Description
This 1-hour CE course explores the complex relationship between ADHD and screen addiction. It covers how process addictions develop, why individuals with ADHD are more vulnerable, and how the two conditions reinforce each other. The course also presents evidence-based therapeutic interventions and strategies that engage the client’s family and social systems.
Course Objectives
Identify at least three behavioral markers of screen-based process addiction
Gain a basic understanding of how ADHD increases susceptibility to both developing and maintaining a process addiction
Apply at least two empirically-backed interventions in the treatment of co-occurring ADHD and screen addiction

Ryan Roberts is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and adjunct professor at Utah Valley University, where he teaches in the Department of Psychology and Counseling. He is the CEO of Level-Up Life, a coaching company dedicated to improving executive functioning and academic outcomes for students by integrating mental health strategies into daily routines.
Ryan has over a decade of experience working with students, families, and individuals navigating complex academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges. His clinical work focuses on ADHD, executive functioning, and screen-based process addictions—areas where he has developed innovative, research-informed interventions.
As a researcher, Ryan’s interests include burnout and crisis care, AI-assisted therapy, therapist development, and the intersection of executive functioning and mental health. He is actively pursuing a long-term career in psychology with a focus on training future therapists and expanding access to care for marginalized populations through both nonprofit and academic initiatives.
